Inspire prepares to take on the Everest Expedition for Julia’s House

A team from Inspire is preparing to take part in the Julia’s House Everest Expedition, raising funds for the children’s hospice charity.   Over the weekend of 26/27 September, a team of eight adventurers from Inspire, many with their families, will be walking, running or cycling a collective 250 miles on a variety of routes around the Dorset countryside.

Taking part in small groups or with their families, the dedicated Inspire adventurers will be walking sections of the South West Coast Path, cycling through the Purbecks and the New Forest, running along the promenade from Sandbanks to Hengistbury Head or even pacing the streets of their local area throughout the weekend, in a bid to clock up the miles.

With the current restrictions, many of the fundraising activities that Julia’s House had planned, had to be cancelled, so the charity launched a virtual challenge – the Everest Expedition.  Now, individuals and businesses have signed up to collectively reach the top of Everest, a distance of 4,606 miles.

In previous years, many of the Inspire team has taken part in challenges, races and hikes, raising money for Julia’s House.  In 2018, the team climbed Snowdon, raising over £2,500 and last year they took on a number of smaller challenges, all fundraising for the children’s hospice charity.

Warren Munson, Founder of Inspire, said: “The Inspire team loves a challenge, so it’s been great to see the variety of activities that the team has planned as part of the Everest Expedition for Julia’s House this year.

“We have some dedicated runners, cyclists and hikers in the team who have relished the opportunity to push themselves for this year’s challenge, be it a weekend hike along the South West Coast Path or testing their cycling abilities through the Purbecks.

“Given that everything is a bit different this year, many of the team have taken the opportunity to get their families involved, so we’ll have our partners and children running, walking and cycling too!

“The main thing is that we’re raising much-needed funds for Julia’s House, at a time when the charity needs donations and support more than ever.”
